IMPORTANT NOTICE: In no way, shape or form will the Town of Vegreville contact potential Canada Day Vendors/Participants via social media asking for money/funds for this event, even to ‘secure’ or ‘hold’ a space. This event is free of charge for vendors and participants while space is available. Vendors/Participants will only be contacted to discuss details pertaining to their involvement in the event via email and this email will only come from an official Town of Vegreville email account (_____@vegreville.com). If an account contacts you on social media asking for money/funds, it is a SCAM and the Town of Vegreville recommends that you report that account to the respective social media channels.

The Party In The Park & Canada Day Colour Run takes place at Vegreville's Pysanka Park, home to the iconic 'World's Largest Pysanka'.

Things To Keep In Mind!

  • The run will start and end in Pysanka Park.

  • This Colour Run is roughly 3 kilometers long, traversing mainly through Vegreville's walking trails. In cases where the route crosses over a public roadway, it is the participant's responsibility to do so safely and to abide by all traffic laws.

  • Watch for signage along the route. 

  • There are a total of FIVE Colour Stations along the Route

  • Be sure to wear white, bring cheap sunglasses/goggles, and have FUN!

Parking Reminders: 

  1. Parking at this event is free of charge.
  2. Parking anywhere within the south portion of the Vegreville Municipal Campground (highlighted in red below) is for registered campers ONLY. Violators risk having their vehicles towed at their expense. 
  3. Parking is prohibited in 'red zones'. Violators risk having their vehicles towed at their expense
  4. Only cross rail tracks at designated crossing areas. CN Police monitor the area frequently and violators risk a $500 fine. 


Question: How much money should I bring to this event?

Answer: While we've done everything in our power to keep this event either low-cost or no-cost, there will be some events/features that you will have to pay for. There is no charge to enter the park.

There is NO CHARGE to take part in the Canada Day Colour Run, however, participants must pre-register and there is a maximum of 300 participants.

There is also NO CHARGE for the Bouncy Castles. 

A basic face painting design is free but more elaborate, time-consuming projects will be subject to a fee. Details regarding free face painting versus paid-for face painting will be provided at the face painting tent.    

You can expect to pay at the Food Trucks and Pysanka Putt Putt, but bringing a picnic/snacks from home is 100% allowed.

Question: Should I bring anything? 

Answer: Seating areas for this event will be limited. Bringing your own lawn chair or blanket is encouraged. You can also bring your own picnic/snacks. Plus, don't forget the sunscreen and insect repellent. 


Question: Are pets allowed? 

Answer: Pets are allowed provided they are on a leash at all times. Please also keep in mind that fireworks will be set off around 11:00 PM.
